Consultation description

The Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016 and the Housing and Planning Act 2016 have introduced a range of changes to the duties and powers of the regulator.

This consultation is on changes we are proposing to our registration criteria for new entrants to reflect the removal of the regulator’s consents regime under the Housing and Planning Act 2016. It also proposes registration criteria for new organisations that are formed following some types of restructures, which under the new legislation triggers a registration event.

This consultation is also on changes being proposed to the regulator’s guidance on use of powers to reflect changes to our enforcement powers introduced in the Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016 and the Housing and Planning Act 2016.

Interested parties are invited to comment on the proposed changes detailed in the consultation document.
