This document is for laboratories performing human papillomavirus (HPV) testing for the NHS Cervical Screening Programme (NHSCSP). It covers:

  • internal quality control (IQC)
  • internal quality assessment (IQA) procedures and monitoring
  • external quality assessment (EQA)

The guidance reflects the standards within ISO15189.
