This order requires suppliers to assist Ofgem in implementing the database remedy.

Details

This order was made under the market investigation provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002.

The order requires suppliers to:

  • provide the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (Ofgem) with relevant data about disengaged customers
  • send disengaged customers a First Contact Communication as per Ofgem’s direction

Compliance statement

Retail energy suppliers must submit annually a database remedy compliance statement to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The first database remedy compliance statement is to be submitted to the CMA by 31 October 2018. Subsequent database remedy compliance statements are to be submitted to the CMA by 31 October in each year.
