Increasing the skills of the UK workforce is important to sustainable growth. This is why the government has committed to create 3 million apprenticeships over the next 5 years.

Public procurement of contracts worth £10 million or more, which last 12 months or longer, should support skills development and the apprenticeship commitment.

This procurement policy note applies from 1 September 2015 and replaces Policy Procurement Note 06/15. It applies to central government departments, their agencies and non-departmental public bodies.
