The Public Sector Decarbonisation Guidance provides a guided, start-to-finish suite of resources. Its aim is to help make the decarbonisation of public sector estates at scale quicker, easier and more cost-effective.
The suite of guidance, tools, templates and checklists will help public sector organisations:
- consider their overall decarbonisation solution
- understand the role played by different technologies
- plan and deliver their energy saving and decarbonisation projects
- apply for government grants such as the Low Carbon Skills Fund and the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.
A framework covering the entire decarbonisation lifecycle takes users from the first stages of strategy development, through to funding, installation and completion.
It harnesses real-world evidence, outputs and learnings from the Modern Energy Partners (MEP) programme. Proven and tested approaches show how to implement energy savings at scale and unlock sector-wide consistency and cost-effectiveness, from LED lighting to low carbon heating.
The package has been developed by Energy Systems Catapult, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and in partnership with the Cabinet Office’s Government Property Function.
