How to make a capital or revenue claim
Read the guidance to help you make your claim for payment using the Rural Payments service or a claim form.
Applies to England
Make a revenue claim
The final deadline for submitting your claim, and any supporting documents and evidence has now passed.
Any claim submitted now will have payment withheld for this claim year, unless you have a good reason or other exceptional circumstances apply.
Make a capital claim
You can submit a capital claim at any time of year. However, this must be:
- within 3 months of the end of your agreement - a late claim reduction will apply if the claim is received between 3 and 6 months
- after the capital work is finished
- after you have been charged or invoiced
All the information you need to know about capital claims is in the relevant scheme guidance.
Make a CS claim online
You can claim online using the Rural Payments service. Once you’ve signed in, select ‘View business’ then scroll down the business overview to ‘Countryside Stewardship claims’.
On the Countryside Stewardship claims screen, select the ‘Create a new Countryside Stewardship Capital Claim’ green button:
- Create a new Countryside Stewardship Capital Claim 2024
- Create a new Countryside Stewardship Capital Claim 2023
You can then use the on-screen ‘Help’ link to take you through each process step-by-step.
Make a Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) Pilot capital claim online
You can create and submit the capital claim under the Countryside Stewardship claims section in your Rural Payments account. Select your SFI Pilot Capital Grant agreement and click the ‘Create a new Countryside Stewardship capital claim’ button.
Please contact RPA if you have any difficulties with the online process.
Make a claim by email or post
If you’re unable to claim online, you’ll need to contact RPA by phone or email to request a capital claim form.
Follow the guidance on how to complete your CS capital claim form by email or post.
Send your completed form, supporting documents and evidence (where relevant) to us by post or email using our contact details.
If you’re a SFI Pilot Capital Grant customer, you can only submit your claim online as we do not accept paper claim forms under the SFI Pilot scheme. However, you can send supporting evidence for your claim by email or post.
