Details
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) is part of the Department for Business and Trade and exercises the powers of the Secretary of State in relation to a range of regulations. Our approach to dealing with non-compliance by those we regulate and resolving potential product safety issues is set out in our Enforcement Policy, which also sets out our approach to publishing details of our enforcement actions.
The enforcement actions listed above were taken by OPSS.
We revised the basis on which we publish details of enforcement actions in February 2021. Prior to that, we published details of enforcement actions only where there is a specific legislative requirement to publish. Published details of our enforcement actions are removed from GOV.UK after five years but remain available via the National Archives as a matter of public record.
Further information on the enforcement activities undertaken by OPSS is included in our annual Delivery Report, which also explains our wider work to bring national capacity and leadership to product regulation, and to ensure the UK has a modern regulatory system with the necessary expertise and capacity.
