ECSH45798 - Fit and proper and approvals: Contents: Operational guidance: Confirming the identity of a beneficial owner, officer or manager: acceptable forms of ID

Acceptable forms of identification are a valid government-issued photo ID that confirms their identity for example a passport or driving licence. If the photographic ID document does not confirm the individual’s home address, they must also provide a second form of ID and proof of address dated within the last 3 months. For example, council tax demand letter or statement; current utility bills (gas or electric) or bank statement.

Failure to provide an appropriate document may result in the business’ application for registration being refused or the business being subject to financial penalties.
